Senior Electrical Engineer supporting North Sea decarbonisation and energy sectors at Wood Digital Consulting. Role involves engineering excellence and technical expertise across all project phases in Hull office.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the delivery of engineering excellence for clients and stakeholders
Serve as the technical expert on projects and hold advanced level specialization in one or more areas of expertise.
Direct preparation of appropriate engineering documentation for assigned projects, through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases.
Ensure successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
Participate in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work
Evaluate problems, organize investigations, and establish general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc.
Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of junior technical professionals
Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
Establish detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill the requirements of assigned general specifications.
Responsible for meeting discipline cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.
Recommend changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary.
Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.
Provide technical input and support to proposals as required
Requirements
MSc degree in Electrical Engineering - Mandatory
18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate
Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates (Amtech Trimble)
Ability to comprehend and interpret Electrical technical information.
A strong and capable knowledge of ATEX/UKEX standards (ExF, Ex12 desirable)
Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Working level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks.
Working level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area
Ability to create functional and cost-effective designs and processes that meet complex specification requirements with little support.
Knowledge and experience of the following – Electrical generation, transformation and distribution systems.
Familiar in specification and interface management of Electrical requirements for Mechanical packages
Familiar with interfacing with Client Engineers personnel to facilitate project execution.
Experience with managing and liaison with Vendors to facilitate project execution
Familiar with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
