About the role

  • Pediatric Occupational Therapist providing evaluation and therapeutic support services for children with developmental delays. Joining Wonderland Child & Family Services' Early Support Team in a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate each child’s performance in all areas of development to determine eligibility for early support services.
  • Participate in the development of each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Provide direct and indirect services to children with developmental delays or disabilities in their natural learning environments.
  • Provide support and consultation for staff, parents, and care providers utilizing a coaching model.
  • Monitor ongoing developmental milestones in all areas of development including hearing and vision.
  • Attend or conduct conferences/consultations with caregivers.
  • Participate as a member of the transdisciplinary team including caregivers and professional staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with the medical and educational community on behalf of enrolled children and their parents/caregivers.
  • Demonstrate a caring, nonjudgmental attitude with every family.
  • Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings and be an active participant in staff related activities.
  • Prepare written reports and chart notes as required by WCFS.
  • Provide in-service trainings of staff, volunteers, and as requested by outside organizations as needed.
  • Support growth and outreach efforts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid OT license in state of Washington.
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable automobile required.
  • Minimum one year of direct service experience with children and families.
  • Knowledge of parent/caregiver coaching; experience preferred.
  • Able to work at a center, in a family’s home, and in a variety of community settings.
  • Current criminal background check maintained for all employees.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Commitment for all employees to work toward including trauma informed care practices in their daily work.
