About the role

  • Behavior Therapist providing one-on-one therapy to clients in Jacksonville. Implementing behavior interventions and documenting client progress in various settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one therapy to clients in various settings
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) designed by BCBAs
  • Accurately collect and record data on client behaviors during sessions
  • Collaborate with supervising BCBAs to track client progress
  • Utilize approved behavior reduction techniques to address challenging behaviors
  • Assist clients in developing functional skills and communication abilities
  • Provide training to parents/caregivers on behavior intervention techniques
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and maintain client confidentiality
  • Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and session notes
  • Maintain open communication with BCBAs and other team members

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must meet all BACB eligibility requirements for RBT certification
  • Ability to pass RBT certification exam within training period
  • Must obtain and maintain required RBT certification through BACB
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • Physical capacity to move quickly and respond to potentially aggressive behavior
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and sitting
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds to assist clients
