About the role
- Accounting Analyst II supporting financial operations at WM, involved in various finance functions and accounting tasks. Responsibilities include month-end closing and financial analysis.
Responsibilities
- Executes moderately complex financial tasks in a timely and accurate manner;
- Performs month-end close activities for assigned areas of responsibility including preparing journal entries of low to high complexity.
- Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and adequately document conclusions.
- Analyzes monthly financial results; able to communicate trends in results and provide meaningful insights into the results.
- Collects and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports.
- Assists with evaluating, documenting, and concluding on the accounting consequences of potential transactions.
- Participates in monthly financial review meetings.
- Provides guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application.
- Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
