About the role
- Principal Engineer providing technical leadership on Reactor Coolant Pumps and related technologies at Westinghouse. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and approve equipment repair plans, engineering procedures, drawings, and technical specifications
- Provide technical leadership and engineering oversight to shop personnel during inspection, repair, manufacturing, and assembly of Reactor Coolant Pump components
- Review and disposition non-conformances and technical documentation generated by suppliers and internal operations
- Serve as a technical advisor to equipment owners (customers) on RCP maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational best practices
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, including Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Technicians, and external suppliers
- Provide technical input and leadership during proposal development and customer engagements
- Define and evaluate critical equipment characteristics to support equipment qualification and commercial dedication activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the nuclear industry
- Strong working knowledge of industrial mechanical components, including pumps, valves, mechanical seals, motors, and related equipment
- Experience with manufacturing and inspection processes (e.g., machining, welding, NDE)
