About the role
- Advanced Analysis & Integration Engineer supporting Westinghouse’s mission for clean energy solutions. Performing modeling and safety analysis for advanced reactor designs and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for assigned work performed in the safety analysis of advanced reactor safety analysis consistent with regulatory requirements
- Perform modeling and analysis of thermal hydraulic systems including CFD and other standard and non-standard T/H codes.
- Develop technical documentation and presentations related to these calculations and analyses
- Work as a cross functional team (i.e. system and component design, testing, manufacturing, and materials) to solve challenging technical problems to progress the advanced reactor designs
- Work and communicate with technical leads and project managers in coordination of activities associated with assigned work scope
Requirements
- BS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or recognized equivalent required with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Experience in thermal hydraulics and applied fluid transport
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate a variety of issues: project status, issue resolution, engineering recommendations.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and tasks within an innovative development program
- Beneficial: Experience with heat and mass transfer and numerical thermal analysis. Modeling or simulation experience with thermal hydraulic codes and in particular codes like ANSYS CFD including FLUENT.
