About the role

  • Manager of credit analysis and underwriting for Business Credit Center loans, ensuring compliance with policies and collaborating with various Bank functions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the credit analysis and underwriting of new Business Credit Center loans including C&I loan requests up to $7.5 million and Investment Real Estate requests up to $10 million.
  • Ensure the accuracy of credit data in loan onboarding systems.
  • Establish proper risk ratings, compliance with credit and other bank policies, and train new staff members.
  • Prepare high quality, detailed credit approval documents that contain an in-depth analysis, an understanding and identification of credit issues/risks as well as an accurate risk rating assignment.
  • Decision loan requests in accordance with the bank’s loan policies and procedures including formal and informal risk appetite statements.
  • Spread and provide analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and projections, as well as a review of supporting materials including leases and rent rolls.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to ensure an understanding of customer financing needs and to request additional information as necessary to support a credit decision.
  • Engage with customers and Relationship Managers to discuss credit inquiries and gain additional insight into the client’s business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required - Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience in commercial loan underwriting
  • Strong credit skills required with the ability to quickly identify key risks, develop and document mitigating support, and making credit recommendations
  • Familiarity with commercial & industrial as well as investment real estate markets and transaction structures
  • Knowledge of SBA financing programs
  • Ability to independently prioritize workload and execute problem resolution strategies with minimal management support
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize work to meet deadlines and work both independently and within a team structure
  • Strong organizational, communication, time management and collaboration skills.
