Responsibilities
Be part of the senior management of Waystone Continental Europe
Manage the Legal Department of Waystone Luxembourg
Ensure the efficiency of the Legal Department and maintain ongoing appropriate level of technical and legal knowledge within the team
Deal with the different legal and governance aspects related to the different functions of Waystone Continental Europe and especially related to the lifecycle management of investment funds and legal deliverables on strategic projects
Provide legal advice to other business areas within Waystone Continental Europe
Contribute to the oversight on the legal developments and ensure participation by a team representative into regulatory projects
Coordinate and supervise the required approvals and filings with relevant regulatory authorities
Identify and propose solutions for mitigating the legal risks within Waystone
Report on legal activities and risks
Help to draft, vet and negotiate contracts on various legal matters
Conduct or supervise legal training for Luxembourg staff
Coordinate, oversee and ensure that the Waystone Continental Europe contracts, legal documents and templates are up to date and compliant with the applicable laws and regulations
Participate and/or lead to successful completion management’s initiatives and projects
Participate into external working groups with the fund associations such as ALFI, LPEA, etc.
Represent and be an ambassador of Waystone in external professional events, conferences, etc.
Act as a key commercial partner in supporting and advancing Waystone’s strategic expansion.
Requirements
Master in Law
CCDL considered an advantage
Advanced legal education with relevant Law and/or Finance certifications demonstrating strong expertise in Luxembourg law
10+ years of experience in the fund industry
Strong leadership skills and commercial interest
Strong regulatory and compliance knowledge
Excellent communication skills and ability to engage with senior management and boards
Capacity and affinity to work in an international environment
Solution-oriented approach to resolving problems and ability to handle multiple complex matters in parallel
Fluency in English, good command of French, any other language would be considered a plus.
