Responsibilities
- Grow a team of high performing data scientists and drive business value through application of advanced analytics and data science
- Coordinate across retail value chain functional teams of data scientists, analysts, product managers, engineers, and business operators
- Develop and leverage a consistent framework to identify and prioritize uses cases based on business value
- Solve complex problems, pivotal to Walmart's business and drive actionable insights
- Utilize product mindset to build, scale and deploy holistic data science products
- Lead and collaborate with the team to assess customer needs and translate the business problem into an analytical problem
- Establish data science best practices and influence data-driven decision making
Requirements
- Bachelor’s / Masters / PhD degree in engineering or relevant discipline
- At least 15+ years of professional experience in roles focused on adding value through building analytics and data science-based solutions and products for complex, cross functional business problems
- Strong background with Machine Learning concepts
- Proficiency in modern software engineering practices and core computer science concepts across algorithms, data structures and distributed computing
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts, methodologies, and frameworks
- Experience with cloud computing platforms
- Background in managing AI/ML and technology teams
- Good knowledge of agile methodologies and tools
- Passion for understanding business challenges
