About the role

• Senior Director of Software Engineering leading the vision and execution of an AI-enabled sales platform for Walmart. Guiding teams in developing scalable capabilities and operational efficiency with a focus on advertiser engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vision, architecture, and execution of an AI-enabled sales platform.
• Guide engineering teams in designing and operating high-performance, reliable, and scalable distributed systems.
• Partner closely with Product, Sales, and Business teams.
• Define and execute the multi-year technical and organizational strategy for the AI-enabled sales platform.
• Oversee architecture of large-scale distributed systems integrating AI capabilities and automation.
• Build scalable platform services and orchestration layers enabling efficient workflows.
• Establish engineering rigor with monitoring, reliability standards, and performance optimization.
• Build and mentor high-performing teams and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.

Requirements

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 9 years’ experience in software engineering or related area. 4 years’ supervisory experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Experience building large-scale platform systems that support complex operational workflows.
• Experience developing platforms that integrate AI-enabled capabilities into business applications.
• Experience operating systems that process large volumes of data and support high-scale automation or decision systems.
• Experience working across global teams and supporting enterprise-scale business environments.
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices and experience in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards.
