About the role
- Backend Software Engineer developing Java or Kotlin microservices for automotive systems. Contributing to DevOps practices and tech decisions within diverse teams at VW Group Digital Solutions in Lisbon.
Responsibilities
- Working on the interconnected ecosystem and further develop the state-of-the-art platform to manage software exchanged between trucks & buses and backend infrastructure;
- Concept development, architectural reviews, development and operations
- Developing/deploying/maintaining automotive backend microservices based on Java or Kotlin and powered by AWS
- Working in the context of automotive, you will use DevOps principles to create, test and deploy backend solutions as well as internal tools using modern cloud infrastructure like AWS
- Contributing to tech and architecture decisions
- Contributing with your team and other teams on all questions around backend and tool development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or comparable work experience
- At least 4 years of experience working as backend software engineer
- Strong experience with Java and frameworks, such as Spring boot
- Experience designing/building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, event driven architecture and integration, and testing
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Great English skills, both written and spoken.
