About the role
- Engineering Application Architect improving CAD, PDM, and ERP systems for a global engineering company. Focus on data integration and digitalization in engineering processes.
Responsibilities
- Strategically develop the engineering and product data systems landscape (CAD, PDM/PLM, ERP, CPQ) and design an end-to-end architecture to support technical product development and change processes
- Conceptualize and support system-level integration, use, and downstream processing of 3D data such as CAD models, visualizations and derivatives across the entire product lifecycle
- Identify digitalization and automation opportunities in configuration and order processing and translate them into robust technical concepts
- Design, implement and sustainably stabilize data flows between different engineering applications
- Act as the central point of contact for external service providers to coordinate and manage bug fixes and new features
- Create technical concepts and oversee external developments from a subject-matter perspective, including testing and acceptance
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, (Business) Informatics or a comparable technical qualification
- Experience working with 3D data and CAD models, and integrating them into PDM and downstream systems
- Interest in digitalization, automation and the continuous improvement of digital engineering processes
- Solid knowledge of ERP and PDM systems, ideally with experience in proALPHA and Gain
- Experience with interfaces, data structures and technical integrations
- Fluent German; preferably good English
