About the role

• Lead Engineer ensuring technical solutions meet standards in hydropower projects for VEO. Collaborate with stakeholders, lead design, and manage technical risks in an international work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the implementation of technical solutions for hydropower projects is as agreed and balanced with costs and customer needs.
• Work closely with various stakeholders—including customers, contractors, and internal departments—to ensure successful project execution.
• Lead overall design activities, monitor progress, and manage technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage resource planning, schedules, and technical "freezing points" in cooperation with Project Managers.
• Approve design documentation and ensure adherence to laws and standards.

Requirements

• A strong technical background, preferably a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• Several years of experience in lead engineering or similar senior positions.
• Solid experience specifically within hydropower or other power plant environments.
• Proficiency in design software (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD, Febdok).
• Knowledge of relevant laws and standards (e.g., IEC, DOK80).
• Fluency in Finnish and English; Swedish is considered a significant advantage.
