About the role

• Android Tech Lead responsible for guiding technical direction of Android platform at Veepee. Leading and mentoring developers while ensuring consistency and innovation in Android projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Android Chapter, providing technical guidance and mentorship to Android developers across multiple squads;
• Define and drive the Android technical strategy, architecture patterns, and technology roadmap;
• Establish and maintain Android coding standards, best practices, and development guidelines across the organization;
• Champion architectural decisions and ensure consistency across all Android projects;
• Facilitate knowledge sharing through tech talks, workshops, and documentation;
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and other Tech Leads to align technical decisions with business objectives;
• Conduct and coordinate code reviews, promoting high-quality code across all teams;
• Drive the adoption of new technologies and improvements to the Android ecosystem;
• Monitor and improve application performance, stability, and user experience across all Android products;
• Lead technical discussions and decision-making processes at the platform level;
• Ensure CI/CD processes are optimized and followed across all Android projects;
• Foster innovation and participate in prototyping new features and solutions;
• Support the recruitment process by evaluating technical candidates and defining hiring standards;
• Act as the primary point of contact for Android-related technical matters.

Requirements

• At least 7+ years of experience in building Android applications with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or chapter lead role;
• Deep expertise in Kotlin and solid understanding of Java;
• Proven experience architecting and scaling Android applications in complex environments;
• Strong experience with modern Android architecture components;
• Advanced knowledge of dependency injection frameworks;
• Expert knowledge of Android Studio, Android SDK, and the Android ecosystem;
• Proven ability to implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines;
• Experience with reactive programming;
• Strong skills in unit and UI testing, with ability to define organization-wide testing strategies;
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and inspire developers at various levels;
• Excellent leadership and people management skills in a cross-functional environment;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Ability to influence and drive technical decisions across multiple teams;
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
