About the role
- PLC Softwareentwickler designing and implementing systems for airport logistics with international project involvement. Collaborating closely with project management and providing customer training.
Responsibilities
- Development and adaptation of PLC programs (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, Codesys) for conveyor systems, baggage handling systems and other automated airport processes
- Execution of on-site commissioning (national/international), including functional tests, fault analysis and optimization
- Support for modernization/retrofit projects of existing systems
- Close collaboration with project management, electrical design and customer service
- Documentation of software and commissioning processes in accordance with internal standards and customer requirements
- Training and handover to customer personnel
Requirements
- Degree or technician qualification in automation engineering, electrical engineering or a comparable field
- Several years of experience in PLC programming and commissioning, ideally in conveyor technology or airport infrastructure
- Excellent knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7, and optionally Codesys or Beckhoff TwinCAT
- Experience with industrial communications (Profinet, Profibus, AS‑i bus, Ethernet/IP)
- Knowledge of visualization systems (e.g., WinCC, SCADA)
- Understanding of safety-related controls (SIL, safety PLCs)
- Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
