About the role
- Systems Analyst serving as the liaison for the Student Financials module in PeopleSoft applications at the University of Cincinnati. Collaborating with various business units to achieve technology solutions and business goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as systems liaison between the education, research, and administrative functions of the university and Business Enterprise Systems and Technologies (BEST) to help business units achieve their desired business goals.
- This business systems analyst role (BSA) serves as the technical liaison for the Student Financials module of our PeopleSoft Campus Solutions application and primarily supports the Office of the Bursar, along with other financial business areas, like as Student Health Insurance Office, Tax Compliance Office and UC Human Resources.
- Collaborate with business partners and support one or more moderately complex business processes to align technology solutions with business strategies.
- Establish and maintain liaison relationship with business partners and BCS to provide effective technical solutions.
- Conduct data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy requirements.
- Assess client needs utilizing a structured requirement process to assist in identifying business priorities.
- Investigate and troubleshoot client and user issues, identify technical needs, and make recommendations for resolution.
- Develop, write, and communicate business requirements and functional specifications for the implementation of business solutions.
- Assist in documenting current business processes and models and business case development.
- Review modules for quality assurance and adhere to standards and procedures.
- Develop user test cases, validate test results during testing, and execute test cases.
- Investigate and troubleshoot client and user issues and escalate as appropriate.
- Troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions.
- Perform on-going routine application maintenance tasks.
- Provide support for the analysis of client satisfaction data and support efforts to ensure IT solutions meet client needs.
- Document functions and changes to new or modified modules and test activities/results.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
- Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
- Two (2) years of relevant technical or business work experience.
- Demonstrated technical expertise and strong financial data acumen.
- Prior experience in information technology or related technical roles.
- Advanced query development and data analysis skills.
- Experience supporting financial or financial aid business processes.
- Professional experience in higher education administrative environments is ideal.
- Prior professional experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions strongly is ideal.
