About the role
- Mid-level Data Engineer building secure, scalable data infrastructure on AWS for fintech startup TrueLayer. Collaborating with DevOps and Analytics teams to enhance data operations.
Responsibilities
- Help design, build, and operate scalable, reliable, and secure data infrastructure on AWS
- Focus on data platforms, orchestration, compute, and reliability
- Operate production systems, collaborate closely with DevOps and Analytics,
- Enable data teams through robust, well-designed infrastructure
Requirements
- Technical Knowledge

- Engineering Practices
- Apply engineering principles (KISS, YAGNI, DRY, etc.) when designing data infrastructure or workflow
- Apply DevOps and SRE best practices to data systems (monitoring, alerting, automated testing)
- Take responsibility for production incidents, troubleshooting, and post-mortems
- Continuously improve reliability and performance of data workloads
- Collaboration & Enablement
- Ability to translate analytics needs into scalable and maintainable platform solutions
- Enable self-service analytics through reusable infrastructure components, templates, and tooling
- Work closely with Analytics teams and collaborate with DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure teams on shared platform standards
- We'd be particularly excited if you have
- Familiarity with DBT from an infrastructure and deployment perspective
- Experience with cost optimization strategies for data platforms
- Experience with GCP
