About the role

• Software Engineer I responsible for developing AI-enabled environments for rules work at Travelers. Focused on enhancing workflow efficiency and business value through technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions as well as define technical requirements for assignments of intermediate complexity.
• Participate with team to perform analysis, assessment and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and escalate appropriately.
• Work within guidelines set by team to independently tackle well-scoped problems.
• Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Three years of programming/development experience.
• Experience with Java, PostgreSQL, AWS, Business Rules Management Systems required.
• Al technologies are highly desired.
• Experience working in an Agile team and with tools like JIRA essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.
• 2 additional years of software engineering experience.
