About the role

• Compliance Officer overseeing compliance activities and regulatory adherence for a fast-scaling fintech company expanding into Germany. Collaborating with stakeholders to provide compliance guidance and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day compliance activities aligned with BaFin regulatory requirements.
• Oversee monitoring of investment products and processes.
• Develop the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP) by conducting reports, collecting data, and following up on findings.
• Provide compliance input on current and upcoming products and services across the business.
• Provide compliance guidance on current and upcoming products and services, partnering with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Review and approve financial promotions, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
• Own and maintain compliance policies and procedures, proactively identifying gaps and driving improvements.

Requirements

• Full professional proficiency in German (C1) - required for regulatory correspondence, BaFin interactions, and stakeholder discussions.
• Full professional proficiency in English (C1) - required for internal communications, cross-border collaboration, and group-level reporting.
• Experience in compliance, preferably within the financial services or investment sector.
• A degree in Law, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
• A strong interest in regulatory compliance and the financial services industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, adapt quickly, and learn on the job.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
