About the role
- Backend Software Developer responsible for designing and delivering backend services and APIs. Work in a hybrid, agile squad using PHP (Symfony), AWS (SQS, Lambda), and modern testing practices.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with an experienced team of software developers
- Design, evolve, and deliver new services
- Optimize delivery by working closely with the Tech Lead, Product Manager, and Scrum Master
- Advocate for best practices in design and code with a focus on quality, automation, and the use of AI-assisted tools
Requirements
- 5+ years of back-end development experience
- Experience with modern PHP frameworks, ideally Symfony
- Experience with the Yii framework is a plus
- Experience building REST APIs
- Comfortable with JSON Schemas, OpenAPI/Swagger, OAuth
- Comfortable with AWS services such as SQS and Lambda
- Knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript is a plus
- Hands-on experience optimizing relational databases, preferably MySQL
- Experience writing tests (unit, integration, and functional)
- Experience working in an agile/squad environment
- Ability to lead by example, influence, and mentor junior developers
