About the role
- Professional Mechanical Engineer in employee-owned firm designing complex mechanical systems for rail projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions in transportation.
Responsibilities
- Work on a variety of projects, from fueling facilities, loading/unloading systems, maintenance facilities, tank farms, pump houses, railyard operations, and more.
- Develop plans, studies, and detailed designs for industrial mechanical systems and building systems. Create process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment layouts, and HVAC/plumbing systems.
- Support construction administration, interpret plans, observe operations, and ensure everything meets specs.
- Partner directly with clients and internal teams to define scope, manage budgets and schedules, and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Washington.
- Experienced professional with 8+ years of experience designing building or industrial processing mechanical systems.
- Proven experience designing mechanical system - including piping, HVAC, plumbing, and industrial processes.
- Solid understanding of construction documents, specifications, and industry standards.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with clients and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage project scope, budgets, and schedules effectively.
