Responsibilities
- Design products and ensure they go through the development cycle into production
- Work in a multidisciplinary project team to drive projects through to completion
- Develop, assemble, test and evaluate theoretical designs
- Produce detailed specifications of the product from data analysis gathered from testing
- Ensure Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) is implemented in the design
- Plan and oversee product development and ensure deadlines are met
- Collaborate with other departments for complete knowledge transfer of products into production
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Experience in product development with proven record of released products.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary project team to drive projects through to completion
- An understanding of machinery directive safety legislation and compliance regulations
- Experience with 3D and 2D modelling software, demonstrating a creative ability with attention to detail
- Experience of producing high quality manufacturing drawings containing full tolerance and detailed finishing specifications
- Experience with precision component design to micron level tolerances
- Strong grasp of materials selection for a wide range of mechanical assemblies
- Ability to multitask, time manage and work independently
- Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly
