Responsibilities

• Development and further enhancement of backend functionalities using Python (e.g., APIs, services, data processing).
• Building, documenting and maintaining interfaces (e.g., REST APIs).
• Integrating data processing and analysis pipelines in a medical technology (MedTech) context.
• Contributing to AI-supported components — e.g., data preparation, model integration, or optimizing existing models.
• Collaborating with frontend, design and product teams to implement features cleanly and effectively.
• Improving existing algorithms (e.g., segmentation, classification, or optimization).

Requirements

• Enrolled student in a relevant degree program, e.g.: Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Engineering, Computational Engineering, or a comparable field with a focus on software development, data, or AI.
• Good knowledge of Python.
• Basic understanding of backend architectures & APIs (e.g., REST).
• Interest in AI, machine learning or data processing (experience is a plus but not required).
• Ideally initial exposure to frameworks or libraries such as FastAPI, Flask, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, or scikit-image.
• Structured working style, teamwork skills and a strong willingness to learn.
• Good German or English language skills.
