About the role

  • Senior Data Engineer responsible for developing data products for Disney's immersive digital experiences. Collaborating with teams to ensure data quality and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and growth of our Data Products and Data Warehouses around Content Performance and Content Engagement data.
  • Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, build ELT pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-premise, hybrid)
  • Use our tech stack including AWS, Snowflake, Data Build Tool (DBT) and Automic UC4/Airflow to transform, store, retrieve, and distribute Financial Management data.
  • Help architect data solutions/frameworks and use dimensional modeling to define data assets in a medallion structure
  • Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects and Data Engineers to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
  • Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance
  • Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support a dedicated focus on our customers (Data Science, Data Analytics and Business teams)
  • Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure health and process improvements for your team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience, developing large data pipelines
  • Strong SQL skills writing queries to extract data and build performant datasets
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS tool stack such as Lambda, Kinesis, DMS, AppFlow, EventBridge to ingest process data
  • Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query)
  • Expert level experience with SQL/T-SQL and ability to create and tune queries
  • Agile and Scrum experience
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Solid experience with data integration toolsets (Airflow) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines
  • Familiarity with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing standard methodologies and practices.
