Senior Data Engineer responsible for developing data products for Disney's immersive digital experiences. Collaborating with teams to ensure data quality and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and growth of our Data Products and Data Warehouses around Content Performance and Content Engagement data.
Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, build ELT pipelines in Big Data environments (cloud, on-premise, hybrid)
Use our tech stack including AWS, Snowflake, Data Build Tool (DBT) and Automic UC4/Airflow to transform, store, retrieve, and distribute Financial Management data.
Help architect data solutions/frameworks and use dimensional modeling to define data assets in a medallion structure
Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Architects and Data Engineers to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions
Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance
Ensure high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions to meet SLAs and support a dedicated focus on our customers (Data Science, Data Analytics and Business teams)
Be an active participant and advocate of agile/scrum practice to ensure health and process improvements for your team.
Requirements
5+ years of data engineering experience, developing large data pipelines
Strong SQL skills writing queries to extract data and build performant datasets
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
Hands-on experience with AWS tool stack such as Lambda, Kinesis, DMS, AppFlow, EventBridge to ingest process data
Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query)
Expert level experience with SQL/T-SQL and ability to create and tune queries
Agile and Scrum experience
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Solid experience with data integration toolsets (Airflow) and writing and maintaining Data Pipelines
Familiarity with Data Modeling techniques and Data Warehousing standard methodologies and practices.
