About the role

  • Principal General Assignment Writer at Thesis, crafting compelling narratives for Nike. Engaging with leadership on diverse storytelling while managing multiple writing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize One Publishing story submissions — including decks, interviews, marketing materials, and assets — and help identify the channel-right strategy.
  • Conduct interviews with employees, executives and other Nike voices to develop copy, skillfully distilling complex topics into clear copy for Comms-owned channels.
  • Create and maintain project timelines while juggling multiple simultaneous writing projects, providing clear milestones and aligning stakeholders to successfully deliver engaging copy.
  • Publish stories across the One Publishing internal and external channels.
  • Maintain and uphold the company’s brand voice and messages across all communications.
  • Effectively craft communication for different stakeholders and write from diverse perspectives.
  • Support the development and implementation of external strategies for Nike leaders.
  • Learn a baseline of Nike product history to help make sense of stories in historical context.
  • Build strong relationships, confidently engaging with leadership at all levels and valuing cultural differences.
  • Be an active member of the One Publishing, embedded with the team, and aligned with their in-office expectations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Writing, English, Journalism, or equivalent experience in creative industries.
  • 5–7+ years of writing experience in editorial, newspaper, magazine, corporate communications, and/or public relations environments.
  • A strong editorial background and proven experience writing high-fidelity content.
  • Proven experience that demonstrates versatility and a diverse skillset, writing editorial content, internal and external communications, long- and short-form copy, press releases, special project writing, and marketing copy.
  • Prior experience working with a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Prior experience writing for Sr. Executives.
  • Expertise in managing multiple and competing projects and priorities in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, with expert-level prioritization skills.
  • An interest in sports, an appreciation for diverse cultural insights, and a keen focus on digital-first approaches.
