About the role

  • Engineering Manager overseeing tech teams at Theodo FinTech, ensuring client satisfaction and quality code. Leading a dynamic team while promoting cross-functional improvements and career development.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering: Ensure the satisfaction of your technical clients (typically CTOs, VPs of Engineering) and business stakeholders by owning the quality of the architectures and code produced by your teams.
  • Management: Directly manage up to 4 Tech Leads and ensure their development—especially technical progression—as well as the growth of their developers.
  • Cross-functional improvements: Lead technical or organizational cross-cutting changes at your client’s level and/or across Theodo.
  • Medium-term career prospects: Managerial: Engineering Director; Business: Partnership with responsibility for a business platform and/or a practice within the group.

Requirements

  • 7–14 years of professional experience
  • Proven experience managing technical teams
  • Experience in services/consulting (e.g., IT services company or consulting firm)
  • Technical proficiency: We do not expect the EM to code regularly, but for enterprise accounts we expect solid knowledge of Java (Spring Boot) and/or Angular to be relevant and credible when supporting the technical progression of your teams
  • Ability to design scalable architectures
  • Strong interest in applying Generative AI to design and develop digital products
  • Leadership and teaching ability to bring teams on board and clearly explain solutions to clients
  • Ability to solve complex problems and implement cross-functional changes within an organization
  • Business acumen: ability to dig into the business objectives of a feature to identify the best technical solution.
