About the role
- Principal Software Engineer leading the architecture of a next-generation AI-powered data pipeline at The Hartford. Driving technical innovation and collaborating with engineering teams for platform development.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for a next-generation, AI-powered data pipeline platform
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
- Balance architecture leadership with hands-on prototyping and solution delivery
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and platform architects
- Embed DevSecOps, DataOps, and agile methodologies into all aspects of platform development
- Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct workshops, and champion the adoption of Agentic AI frameworks
Requirements
- 10+ years as a Senior Software/Data Engineer or Software/Data Architect
- Proven track record architecting and building scalable, cloud-native solutions using GenAI, machine learning, and advanced analytics
- Deep knowledge of GCP, AWS, and multi-cloud ecosystems
- Experience with AgenticAI frameworks
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), microservices, API management, and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace) and secure deployment practices
- GenAI-driven test automation and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker/OpenShift)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire technical teams
