Civil Engineer providing technical leadership in land development projects for Terravanta Inc. Involves grading, drainage, paving, and inspections related to energy and transportation facilities.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and civil engineering expertise for projects involving grading, drainage, paving, roadways, water/sewer systems, fencing, retaining walls, and other land development components.
Directs or performs engineering tasks associated with a critical engineering project or several small projects with complex features.
Manage the evaluation, development, and implementation of capital projects that have moderate financial and operational impact.
Direct involvement in tasks necessary for project execution. Identifies problems and solutions.
Collaborates to establish project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables and budgets.
Leads civil/structural engineering analysis, calculations, design, detailing, and CAD-supported drafting for SCE facilities.
Performs site visits to provide construction support and/or conduct inspections
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Possesses eight or more years of experience in relevant civil/land development design.
Experienced in providing engineering construction field support
Required: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft tools
Required: California Professional Engineering License
Experience in land development for electrical substation facilities and transmission access in varied terrain
Familiarity with road and highway design
Familiarity with storm damage response and mitigation
Skilled in contractor management and purchase order oversight
Knowledge of California permitting processes
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Experience with ArcGIS
Experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advanced engineering principles.
