About the role

  • Engineer overseeing construction projects ensuring compliance with plans and safety. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating complex tasks on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction work as efficiently, comprehensively and consistently as possible to ensure that built or repaired structures fully comply with plans and specifications while remaining safe and durable.
  • Be present on site during the contractor’s working hours to confirm the contractor’s presence, oversee the work and provide a rapid response in case of unforeseen events.
  • Plan and carry out supervision for all types of work.
  • Plan, perform and record all specific inspections and verifications applicable to the works being supervised.

Requirements

  • Licensed engineer and member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant experience as an engineer supervising construction or repair of civil engineering structures (ouvrages d'art), such as bridges and similar works.
  • Three (3) years of experience preparing plans and specifications for civil engineering structures (ouvrages d'art).
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating a multidisciplinary team.
  • Completion of two (2) projects of comparable scale to the contract.
