- Electrical Engineer managing engineering services for fertilizer and gas chemical units with a focus on electrical systems and project execution. Requires over 7 years of experience in electrical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Respond to electrical engineering service requests for Fertilizer and Gas Chemical units
- Monitor and execute projects within the area of focus for new units and operational improvements (retrofits) of electrical systems
- Prepare, adapt and/or review technical specifications for industrial electrical projects
- Conduct failure and operational risk analyses and investigate accidents and incidents involving the electrical system
- Provide electrical technical support to Fertilizer and Gas Chemical units
- Review electrical system studies
- Support the interpretation of protection schemes, event logs, oscillography and parameterization of digital relays
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering — professional registration with the regional engineering council (CREA)
- More than 7 years' proven experience in electrical engineering
- Desirable experience with industrial electrical systems in refineries, thermal power plants, petrochemical complexes, gas processing stations, mining operations, steel mills and power utilities
- Advanced knowledge of electrical protection studies, including selectivity and coordination of protection
- Advanced skills in handling and interpreting oscillography and event logs from digital relays
- Advanced understanding of the operating principles of PTs (potential transformers), CTs (current transformers) and microprocessor-based relays
- Advanced knowledge of electrical protection involving logical selectivity and integrated networks of digital relays
- Strong practical experience in handling and operating microprocessor-based relays regarding parameterization, HMI navigation, remote/local communications and testing/calibration
- English proficiency
- Knowledge of modeling and simulation using dedicated software for short-circuit calculations, power flow studies and incident energy calculations
- Basic knowledge of failure analysis techniques
