About the role

  • Finance Transformation Specialist developing business capabilities for Finance through functional design and testing. Collaborating on process controls and project management in financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business capabilities for Finance through key stages of functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing.
  • Support options analysis and recommendations as part of decision making.
  • Design conceptual data model underpinning all phases of the processes, and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
  • Development of target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks and aligning these components with organisational and role/service model design definitions.
  • Update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle, and resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes.
  • Project management for change programmes that have limited technology investment.
  • Develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions, ahead of user testing cycles.
  • Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
  • Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes.

Requirements

  • Professional qualifications e.g. qualified accountant and an excellent general academic track record.
  • Strong financial services experience with knowledge of Finance process, system and technologies.
  • Excellent power-point skills, with the ability to storyboard and produce best in class presentations.
  • Strong data manipulation skills (incl. Excel) with analytical problem-solving ability to proactively break down issues and identify solutions.
  • Adapt leadership and communication styles to influence and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience of finance transformation programs and strong command of project management techniques and principles, and process management skills and techniques (Lean, Six Sigma) particularly in matrixed environments.
  • Considerable problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to organize priorities while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong data articulation skills and ability to translate it into actionable insights for senior leadership.
