About the role
- Senior Data Engineer responsible for architecting analytics solutions for SAP and Azure at Swiss Re. Collaborating with business stakeholders and mentoring junior engineers in a dynamic finance landscape.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement analytics and data modeling solutions for SAP, Microsoft Azure Databricks and Palantir Landscape
- Develop and enhance analytical applications and reporting tools
- Collaborate with business stakeholders (business analysts, product owners, architects) to gather requirements, design functional solutions, and deliver end-to-end analytics products independently
- Lead the development of prototypes and ensure timely delivery of production-ready solutions
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Contribute to best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines
Requirements
- 12+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing large data solutions based on Embedded Analytics (CDS views, ABAP)
- Proficiency in SAP tables/structures, ABAP Objects, REST APIs, OO ABAP and SQL
- Understanding performance impact and resolving performance related issues
- Proven track record across all phases of cloud application development: requirements gathering, architecture, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate complex processes clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience working in agile environments
