About the role

  • Product Manager in agriculture underwriting at Swiss Re developing tools and methodologies. Collaborating with global teams to enhance decision-support capabilities with AI-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Co-Own and develop the global agriculture underwriting tool landscape, ensuring effective deployment, user adoption, and delivery of high-quality trainings across all regions.
  • Drive the development and implementation of advanced quantitative methodologies to enhance costing, pricing, forecasting, and portfolio-optimization capabilities.
  • Safeguard and continuously maintain underwriting standards to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with Agriculture's underlying business and its strategic objectives.
  • Lead the integration and governance of AI-driven solutions within the agriculture underwriting ecosystem, ensuring responsible adoption, enhanced decision-support capabilities, and continuous improvement of digital underwriting processes.
  • Collaborate with Agricultural Management Team on governance, reporting, and strategic steering topics and facilitation of Smart Circles.
  • Harmonise costing standards across regions, designing and delivering underwriting training.
  • Assume underwriting responsibility for selected markets, covering both treaty and facultative business across all agriculture sublines.
  • Contribute to global and cross-functional workstreams, supporting initiatives of both the broader Swiss Re Group and Global Specialty.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant re/insurance industry experience
  • University degree in a quantitative field such as finance, mathematics/statistics, actuarial or natural science or agriculture
  • Strong data science/analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of econometrics/statistics, previous exposure to quantitative finance methods an advantage
  • Programming skills in Python or R as well as Microsoft Office
  • Experience in project management, automation, and tool development
  • Familiarity with AI-driven methods or AI-supported workflows is an advantage
  • Comfortable working in a reinsurance underwriting environment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a global, culturally diverse setting
  • Excellent oral and written English; additional languages are an asset.
