About the role

  • Production Engineer responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes at Supermicro. Focus on installation, calibration, and management of production equipment for improved quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage installation, calibration, and qualification of new production and test equipment ensuring alignment with production requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing equipment and tooling, including sourcing and coordination with external vendors, while adhering to ethical procurement practices.
  • Plan and execute equipment and tooling-related projects, providing support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation activities, ensuring all changes are documented and controlled.
  • Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and tooling issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions with thorough documentation.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive equipment-related documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance logs, and troubleshooting guides ensuring all information is accurate and accessible.
  • Analyze equipment performance data to continuously improve efficiency, reduce failure rates, and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Facilities) to support operational goals and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Work closely with vendors and suppliers for spare parts procurement, technical support, and equipment upgrades, ensuring all transactions comply with internal controls and ethical guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain general utility systems, including compressed air, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and other facility equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and internal operational standards including those related to quality management systems and information security.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer, or a related Engineering field.
  • Preferably have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in equipment engineering, development, setup, or maintenance within a manufacturing or electronics assembly environment.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical integration, and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with automated machinery, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) / test equipment, or semiconductor-related tools is considered an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Skilled in equipment design, mechanical repair, water and pneumatic systems, and practical applications in factory automation.
  • Possess strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Willingness to support shift or weekend operations when required, ensuring fair scheduling and adherence to working hour limits.
