Responsibilities
Scoping Analysis - Involves evaluating initial design concepts, collaborating with stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements and standards, and providing cost estimates.
Roadway Design - Design of horizontal alignments and vertical profiles of State roadways as well as superelevation, drainage, stormwater and erosion protection needs.
Bridge Design - Design and analyze various structural elements of bridges, including superstructures, substructures, foundations, and retaining walls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
CADD Software - Design engineers utilize CADD software extensively throughout the design and construction phases.
Collaboration - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, environmental engineers, and transportation planners, to integrate designs with overall infrastructure projects.
Documents - Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation related to design, analysis, and construction activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND four (4) years of engineering experience.
OR Associates degree in civil engineering, construction management, architectural engineering, or related technical field AND six (6) years of engineering experience INCLUDING licensure as an Engineer Intern.
