About the role

  • Adjunct Faculty responsible for teaching undergraduate English and Communications courses in a hybrid format. Engaging students through both in-person and online modalities while maintaining academic excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality education and maintains high standards of academic excellence in teaching assigned courses
  • Teach assigned courses in both in-person and asynchronously online modalities
  • Maintain office hours as assigned
  • Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure quality feedback
  • Establish high standards and ensure understanding of evaluation methods
  • Adhere to university policies and procedures
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required

Requirements

  • Master’s level degree in the discipline specialty from a regionally accredited institution
  • A terminal degree, or work towards a terminal degree, is preferred
  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s)
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
