About the role

  • Ingénieur(e) en conception de ponts et ouvrages d'art chez Stantec, réalisant des études de faisabilité et supervisant la conception de structures complexes. Collaborer avec une équipe d'experts pour des projets significatifs à impact communautaire.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned to various design mandates for bridge structures, your primary responsibilities will be to prepare drawings and specifications for construction, repair, and maintenance works for bridges and other road and rail structures;
  • Conduct preliminary design studies and feasibility studies;
  • Perform assessments of structural load-bearing capacity;
  • Carry out strength of materials calculations and structural analysis;
  • Model structures using structural analysis software such as Advanced Design America, CSI Bridge, SAFI, etc.;
  • Collaborate on and supervise the preparation of drawings;
  • Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for construction, repair, and maintenance works for bridges and other civil structures;
  • Write technical expert reports;
  • Participate in the technical training of junior engineers;
  • Coordinate the different disciplines involved in the delivery of multidisciplinary projects;
  • Provide technical support to less experienced engineers in planning and executing their tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structures;
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the design of bridges and civil structures;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
  • Excellent command of the CAN/CSA S6 standard. Knowledge of other standards will be considered an asset (AASHTO, Eurocode, etc.);
  • Proficient with structural analysis software (Advanced Design America, CSI Bridge or other relevant software);
  • Strong oral and written French language skills;
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structures (an asset).
