About the role

  • Join Stantec as an Environmental Regulatory Specialist in Atlantic Canada. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team supporting environmental assessment and permitting across various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a collaborative team of technical, environmental, and engineering specialists to support the environmental assessment and permitting processes
  • Assist project teams in the preparation of technical documents, environmental assessments, and regulatory applications
  • Support the identification and assessment of sensitive environmental features, constraints, alternatives, potential effects, mitigation measures, and avoidance opportunities
  • Contribute environmental regulatory knowledge and expertise to a wide variety of projects
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Program

Requirements

  • Ability to work with initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality, multitask, and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment
  • Basic understanding of provincial and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental assessment processes within Atlantic Canada
  • Demonstrated effective writing and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality deliverables in a timely manner
  • Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, management, planning, or a related field is preferred, or Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, management, planning, or a related field, and a minimum of 2 years of environmental and regulatory-related experience.
