About the role
- Database expert managing and optimizing MS SQL Server and Oracle databases. Involves incident management and developing CI/CD pipelines for database deployments while ensuring high availability.
Responsibilities
- Operation, administration and further development of MS SQL Server and Oracle databases
- Incident and change management, as well as installation, configuration and monitoring
- Performance analysis and optimization (query tuning, index strategies, resource management)
- Ensuring backups, recovery, high availability and disaster recovery (DR) concepts
- Development and automation of operational procedures and maintenance processes
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for database-related deployments
- Creating technical documentation and contributing to architectural decisions
Requirements
- Completed vocational training or degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of hands-on experience operating Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
- Strong programming skills in Python and PowerShell
- Practical experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and operating Linux and Windows servers
- Confident handling of structured data formats such as XML, JSON, CSV and YAML
- Ideally, initial experience with Docker, Python-based machine learning/AI applications and monitoring tools
- Very good command of German and English
