About the role

  • Junior Data Scientist supporting vehicle and powertrain forecasting models at S&P Global. Collaborating with senior analysts while developing Python solutions for data automation and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Support Data Scientists: Work closely with senior team members to assist in training, testing, and validating models. Help translate their mathematical logic into functional code.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in technical discussions and model planning sessions to build your understanding of the AI lifecycles.
  • Workflow Automation: Identify manual data delivery tasks that slow the team down and practice your coding skills by converting them into reliable, automated Python pipelines.
  • Python Development: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python scripts to support daily analysis and model development.
  • Innovation & GenAI: Collaborate with the team to research and prototype using new libraries and frameworks to keep our tech stack on the cutting edge.

Requirements

  • Education: Recent Graduate (Bachelor's or Master's) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 0 - 2 years of experience (Internships and academic projects count!)
  • Technical Skills: Python First: Strong proficiency in Python is a must. You should be comfortable with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-Learn.
  • ML Familiarity: A solid theoretical understanding of Machine Learning concepts (Regression, Classification, Model Tuning).
  • Scripting: Ability to write scripts to automate tasks.
  • SQL: Basic ability to query databases to retrieve necessary data.
  • Soft Skills: Eager to Learn: You are humble, curious, and excited to absorb knowledge from senior team members.
  • Collaborative: You enjoy working in a team and supporting others to achieve a shared goal.
  • Bonus Points: Exposure to Generative AI frameworks. Experience or strong interest in the Automotive industry.
