About the role

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for administering, configuring, optimizing and supporting the entire IT infrastructure, with a focus on Linux systems and virtualization environments.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, security and continuity of network environments, physical and virtual servers, operating systems, backups and directory services in on-premises and cloud/hybrid environments.
  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat/RHEL, SUSE/SLES) and Windows Server.
  • Manage the boot process (GRUB2), initialization (systemd) and runlevels/targets. Perform controlled shutdowns and reboots.
  • Manage software packages using apt/dpkg, yum/rpm and zypper, configure repositories and ensure system integrity and updates.
  • Manage and maintain server virtualization environments with VMware, XenServer and Proxmox, including operating VMs as Linux guests.
  • Design disk layouts, create and manage partitions, filesystems (ext4, XFS, Btrfs) and Logical Volumes (LVM), including snapshots and space management.
  • Administer essential services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTP, FTP, LDAP, and file services (NFS, Samba), ensuring their integration and operation.
  • Configure and manage network interfaces, firewalls (iptables, firewalld) and security policies such as SELinux. Troubleshoot connectivity and DNS issues.
  • Develop and maintain scripts in Shell (Bash), Python and/or PowerShell for automation of administrative tasks, provisioning and maintenance routines.
  • Manage user and group accounts, password policies and file/directory access permissions, including ACLs and privilege delegation with sudo.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and performance, analyze system logs (syslog, journald) and optimize processes to ensure service stability and performance.
  • Implement and manage backup routines and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Securely access and manage servers using SSH, VNC and RDP.
  • Control and execute the lifecycle of events, incidents, requests, problems and changes within industrialized and automated processes.
  • Work on the restoration of industrialized and automated assets, applications, systems and services.
  • Provide immediate response to incidents and attacks.
  • Participate in integration, requirements analysis, configuration and customization of the technology bus for cognitive exploration, artificial intelligence and Omnichannel channel integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Networks, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATION - SERVER / DATA CENTER OPERATIONS (Hold at least one of the following valid certifications):
  • • LPIC Essentials or LPIC-1 (Linux Professional Institute Administrator); or
  • • RHCSA (Red Hat Certified System Administrator); or
  • • SCA (SUSE Certified Administrator); or
  • • Equivalent Linux certification.
  • 4 years of experience working with Operating Systems and Virtualization.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure.
