About the role

  • Material and Process Specialist responsible for resolving non-conformities and supporting engineering documentation in aerospace manufacturing. Collaborating with various engineering teams and ensuring quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • THE TASKS YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH 🎯
  • Intervene and provide expertise to resolve non-conformities of parts, installations, and assembly line issues.
  • Develop and validate test plans with laboratories, draft test reports and analyze results.
  • Participate in the analysis and implementation of engineering documentation changes in collaboration with engineering teams, manufacturing preparation, production, supply chain, partners and customers.
  • Make technical decisions regarding the materials used, manufacturing and installation processes, and the verification of parts and assemblies.
  • Support redesign activities, investigate and collaborate on new environmental regulations affecting the product.
  • Support the multi-disciplinary engineering team (design, stress analysis).
  • Support site R&D activities as needed.
  • Participate in strategic development projects of the design office led by the central engineering department.
  • The incumbent must also work within the company’s quality frameworks and standards and provide visibility to their management and the program: technical summaries, progress status, and identification of risks and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Specific Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 5–10 years of equivalent experience in similar roles, preferably in aerospace.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes used in aerospace, particularly in assembly and fastening.
  • Familiarity with metallic and composite structural repairs, non-destructive testing (NDT), material compatibility, and surface protection (protective finishes & coatings, sealants).
  • Knowledge of aircraft configuration management rules.
  • Familiarity with ASTM, ISO and SAE standards and regulations related to the aerospace industry.
  • Bilingual French/English.

  • Recognized ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Able to adapt communication to the audience, whether internal or with customers; persuasive and able to present technical arguments with courtesy and clarity.

  • Enthusiastic by nature, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and finds unforeseen and urgent situations stimulating; able to respond calmly and quickly while delivering quality work.
