About the role

  • Analyze aircraft stability and control problems for transport-category aircraft within the NC3 business area.
  • Plan, schedule, execute, and report stability and control analysis and reporting efforts to support other engineering disciplines.
  • Review and compile results from the stability and control analysis team and present findings and results to internal teams, leadership, and customers.
  • Assist with wind tunnel test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Assist with flight test planning and data reduction.
  • Mentor other engineers, organize training sessions, and encourage continuous learning and professional growth among engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience generating stability and control data from DATCOM, Vortex Lattice Models (VLM), and/or other lower order methods prior to obtaining high-fidelity aerodynamic databases.
  • Experience reducing wind tunnel data and flight test data to show compliance to handling characteristics regulatory guidance.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Secret Clearance is required
