About the role

  • Software Engineer developing and maintaining enterprise-grade full stack web applications to prevent fraud at Smartnumbers. Work in an agile team using modern technologies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a small, agile team of software engineers developing and maintaining a large, enterprise grade, full stack web application deployed on AWS.
  • Use front end technologies like Typescript, React (Storybook, Webcomponents), Angular (NgRx, RxJS), Material UI, Cypress/Playwright (E2E & Integration Testing).
  • Work with back end technologies like Typescript, AWS services (Lambda/NodeJS, Fargate/Docker, EC2), Asynchronous Processing, Datastores and Indexing, APIs and CDNs, Data Analytics, and supporting services.
  • Engage in development principles like Event driven systems design, TDD, BDD, REST & GraphQL API design, Single-table database design, SOLID principles, and best practices around non-functional requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working within a cross-functional software development team.
  • Strong full stack software development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication (English)
  • Open collaboration with engineering and broader business teams
  • Receptive to feedback, learning and self-development
  • Attention to detail with drive for delivering the highest quality of work.
  • Strong preference for AWS working within a public cloud environment.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (preference for CloudFormation, AWS CDK) and DevOps processes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, ECS, Fargate are preferred).
  • Good understanding of agile principles and methodologies (Kanban preferred).
  • Experience working with front-end technologies (particularly React, Angular).
  • Experience using AI tooling such as Copilot, Claude Code for code generation or automation tasks.
