About the role
- Application Engineer managing civil engineering tasks for battery storage systems. Collaborating closely with sales and project management teams while ensuring compliance with industry standards in Germany.
Responsibilities
- You provide subject-matter expertise and manage the civil Balance of Plant (BoP) works for large battery energy storage systems (BESS)
- You conduct site inspections during the project development phase
- You oversee and coordinate external consultants for studies such as soil and geotechnical investigations
- Reviewing and optimizing plant designs from a civil engineering perspective (layout, site grading, road construction, etc.) are also part of your responsibilities
- You prepare technical specifications and scope-of-work documents for EPC contractors and ensure compliance with standards and regulations
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in planning or construction of civil BoP works for energy or utility projects; knowledge of BESS / PV / P2G / Wind is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes; experience with the German VOB (Construction Contract Procedures) is mandatory
- Excellent communication skills, experience working in teams, and strong technical writing and documentation abilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
- Fluent German (C1), good English skills, and a high willingness to travel
