About the role
- Finance Co-op ensuring housekeeping and compliance in Markham, Ontario. Processing transactions and reconciling accounts with a focus on detail.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that housekeeping is maintained and provides a healthy and satisfactory work environment for the staff.
- Communicate effectively with the HR team and internal stakeholders informing and updating them regularly.
- Follow systems, processes and procedures outlined in the Corporate Policy Manual.
- Comply with all OSHA safety requirements.
- Get approval for Tipalti transactions and process the transactions on a daily basis.
- Vendor account reconciliation before payment runs.
- Upload carriers’ CSV files to OLP for generating DOMO report cards.
- Assist on monthly freight cost reconciliation per carrier.
- Support on accrual and accrual purchases reconciliation.
- Perform credit card reconciliation i.e. matching entries posted from Expensify to Netsuite
- Assist in analyzing AR discrepancies and refund issues
- Prepare COD payments per instructions.
- Assist in Staple payment applications.
- Reconcile customer account balances and analyze aging issues.
- Assist on tracking sales entry errors syncing from Magento to Netsuite
- Record treasury transactions and perform relevant data matching
- Support the implementation of finance projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Post-Secondary co-op or internship program where co-op is a mandatory requirement to graduate.
- A strong understanding of accounting and financial principles is a valuable asset
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines.
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy, and a dedicated work-ethic.
- Strong critical thinking skills and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills e.g. working well with others, communication, positive attitude.
