Controller overseeing financial accounting processes for SimSpace, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial records and reporting.
Responsibilities
Own the monthly close process in NetSuite
Review monthly journal entries for revenue, expense, and balance sheet accounts
Review offline close schedules in Excel
Review the account reconciliation and make adjustments as necessary
Ensure financial statement accuracy
Oversee AR and AP to ensure payables and invoices are handled in a timely manner
Ensure relevant activity is properly captured in NetSuite
Support annual corporate tax filings
Complete monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
Support annual audit
Manage the Costa Rica accounting outsourced operations
Interact with external technical accounting advisors, tax team, and auditors
Support and implement process improvement and automation projects
Work with leadership to establish and implement internal controls
Requirements
Minimum of 12 years accounting experience; software industry experience is required
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and/or CPA is a plus
Strong knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to multi-national corporations a plus
Proficiency in NetSuite required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
Effective time management skills.
