About the role
- Software Engineer IV designing, building, and operating production backend services for AI-driven workflows in a high-autonomy environment. Collaborating closely with product and design teams in a startup-style atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production backend services and APIs using Python and TypeScript
- Build and operate AI-enabled systems integrating large language models and agent-style workflows
- Own systems end to end, from design through production operation and evolution
- Architect and run distributed, asynchronous, event-driven systems
- Own core backend services or AI workflows used across multiple product areas
- Drive technical decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and mitigate system-level risks
- Contribute to frontend functionality as needed, with a clear backend focus
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and raise the engineering quality bar
- Collaborate closely with product and design in a fast-moving environment
Requirements
- Senior-level engineer with strong backend experience and solid full stack skills
- Deep production experience with Python and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and asynchronous architectures
- Experience building AI-enabled products, or strong interest in doing so
- Comfortable with high ownership, ambiguity, and minimal process
- Proven ability to deliver complex systems independently
- Clear communicator who can explain decisions and influence technical direction
- Startup or 0→1 experience strongly preferred
