About the role

• Senior Software Engineer building high-performance solutions for Shipt's messaging and delivery services. Work collaboratively to design and maintain Go-based microservices and backend systems in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a cross-functional group of Product Managers, Engineers, and Partner Teams to build scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Go-based microservices.
• Leverage API integrations, observability best practices, and infrastructure tools like SQL databases and Kafka to drive impactful solutions.
• Ensure your contributions create value for end users and align with business objectives.
• Work as part of a collaborative team to deliver impactful solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience with a programming language like Golang (preferred), Python, Java, or C/C++.
• Experience designing, developing, testing (unit/integration/etc.), deploying, and maintaining backend REST API services with a strong focus on performance and latency.
• Comfortable working with SQL databases (Postgres preferred).
• Diagnose and solve complex technical problems and performance bottlenecks using data.
• Participate in on-call production support rotation.
• Collaborate effectively with fellow engineers, product managers, and partner teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining systems that integrate with third-party services.
• Optimize backend systems for latency, performance, and scalability.
