About the role

  • Associate Corporate Counsel handling litigation matters for Shipt and ensuring compliance and low-risk operations. Collaborating with the Legal Team and assisting in various legal processes and inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • You'd be an Associate Corporate Counsel focusing on Litigation for Shipt.
  • Helping the Legal team keep things running smoothly, compliant, and low-risk as the company grows.
  • Handle discovery requests: review them, draft responses, find documents, and make sure sensitive information is protected.
  • Assist the Litigation Team with research, interviewing witnesses, drafting legal documents, managing files, preparing for/summarizing depositions, and getting corporate representatives ready for depositions.
  • Track and respond to subpoenas (civil/law enforcement), administrative investigations, and legal inquiries.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to keep the workflow efficient.
  • Help out with regular reporting on legal matters.

Requirements

  • A J.D. from an ABA-accredited school and an active state bar membership.
  • At least 2 years of experience handling litigation matters, either at a national law firm or in-house, in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Litigation experience with personal injury, product liability, employment, independent contractor status, mass arbitration, IP, or class action matters preferred.
  • Great with large data sets, spreadsheets, and making charts/formulas.
  • Experience in a Gig economy or modern tech company.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Can work independently and good at problem-solving.
  • Can use sounds judgment with little oversight and handle confidential info.
  • Knows their way around a Mac and Google Apps (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive), Slack, and DocuSign.
  • Experience with e-discovery platforms like Logikull.
